அங்காடி தெரு – எளிய மனிதர்களின் சினிமா

தன் தந்தை விபத்தில் இறந்ததும் வாழ்க்கை,படிப்பு,கனவு எல்லாம் சிதைந்து விடுகிறது ஜோதிலிங்கத்திற்கு.சென்னையில் இருக்கும் பிரமாண்டமான கடையில் வேலை செய்ய வரும் அவனுக்கும் அவன் நண்பனுக்கும்,ஆரம்பமே அதிர்ச்சி.ஜெயிலை விட மோசமான நிலையில் இருக்கும் தங்குமிடம்,ஓய்வில்லாத வேலை எல்லாம் அவர்களை சொந்த ஊருக்கே திரும்பி செல்ல எண்ண வைக்கிறது.A/C அறையில் வேலை மாற்றப்பட்டது தான் அவர்களின் Promotion.கூடவே வேலை செய்யும் கனி(அஞ்சலி)யிடம் முதலில் முறைத்துக்கொண்டாலும் பின் காதல் துளிக்கிறது.அங்கே இருக்கும் சூபர்வைசர்(Director A.Venkatesan) கற்பனைக்கும் எட்டாத கொடூரங்களை செய்யும் ஒருவன்.காதல் செய்வது அங்கு தடை செய்யப்பட்டிருக்கும் சூழலில்,இவர்களின் காதலும்,வாழ்க்கையும் கடைசியில் என்னவாகிறது என்பதே கதை.

யாருக்கும் வராத துணிவு வசந்தபாலனுக்கு வந்திருக்கிறது.அவரின் இந்த தைரியத்திற்கு என் பாராட்டுக்கள்.சென்ற வருடம் எழுத்தாளர் சாரு நிவேதிதா புத்தக வெளியீட்டு விழாவில் அவரை பார்க்க முடிந்தது குறித்து இப்பொழுது பெருமைப்படுகிறேன்.ஆள் பலம்,பண பலம் எல்லாவற்றுடனும் வலையவரும் ஒரு கூட்டத்தின் அத்துமீரல்களை ஒரு தொழிற்சங்க போராளியைப்போல அம்பலப்படுத்தியிருக்கிறார்.

திரைக்கதையில் பல்வேறு sub-plots இருந்தாலும் எந்தவித குழப்பமும் இல்லாமல் பயணிப்பது இனிய ஆச்சர்யம்.புதுமுகம் மகேஷ் ஆச்சர்யப்படுத்துகிறார்.கனியாக நடித்திருக்கும் அஞ்சலியை பாராட்ட வார்த்தைகளே இல்லை.படம் முழுக்க திருநெல்வேலி தமிழ் விரவிக்கிடக்கிறது.ஜெயமோகனின் வசனங்கள் பார்வையாளனை பல இடங்களில் நேரடியாகத்தாக்குகின்றன.நான் படம் பார்த்த திருவான்மியூர் ஜெயந்தியில் முழுக்க தொழிலாளர் முகங்கள்.படம் ஓடிக்கொண்டிருந்த போது அவர்களை முகங்களை அவ்வப்போது கவனித்தேன்.சில இடங்களில் கொண்டாட்ட மனநிலையிலும்,சில காட்சிகளில் அடக்கமுடியாத கண்ணீருடனும் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தனர்.படம் எங்களுடன் நேரடியாக உரையாடிக்கொண்டிருந்தது. வசந்தபாலன் தன் முந்தைய படமான வெய்யிலில் அதிகமான Melodramaவை கலந்திருப்பார்.இந்தப்படத்தில் எல்லோரும் அவர்களின் இயல்புடனே இருக்கிறார்கள்.நான் மிகவும் ரசித்த விஷயம் இது.

படத்தின் கிளைக்கதைகள் தான் நான் இந்தப்படத்தை தூக்கி கொண்டாட ஒரே காரணம்.

கதாநாயகனின் கூடவே இருக்கும் மாரிமுத்துவின் காதல்

கடைக்குள் நடக்கும் காதலும்,அதன் பிறகு நடக்கும் துயரமும்

தெருவில் போகும் ஊனமுற்றவர்,அவர் மனைவி,முஸ்லீம் பெரியவர் சார்ந்த கதை

கனியின் தங்கை சம்பந்தப்பட்ட காட்சி

கதாநாயகனின் தங்கை, கடைப்பைக்காக பின் தொடரும் ஒரு அற்புதமான குரும்படம்

இப்படி படம் முழுக்க கிளைக்கதைகள் நம்மை அசரடிக்கின்றன.யாரும் தொழில் முறை நடிகர்கள் இல்லை.ஆனால் நம்மால் அவர்களில் வாழ்க்கையை தரிசிக்க முடிகிறது.

இப்படிப்பட்ட படத்தின் தரத்தை குறைக்கும் இரண்டு விஷயங்கள் 1.பாடல்கள் 2.பின்னனி இசை.
சில பாடல்கள் கதையின் நம்பகத்தன்மையை,வேகத்தை குறைக்கின்றன. பின்னனி இசை நாலாந்தர மசாலா படத்தின் இசையைபோல் இருக்கிறது.இசை அனுபவமாககூட இருக்க வேண்டாம்,குறைந்த பட்சம் அந்த அற்புதமான நடிகர்களின் உணர்வுகளையாவது பிரதிபலித்து இருக்கலாம்.படம் முழுவதும் தொடரும் துயரங்கள் அயர்ச்சியை ஏற்படுத்துகின்றன.சில காட்சிகளில் செயற்கைத்தனம் மிகுந்து காணப்படுகிறது.

பொதுவாகவே மனித உரிமை என்பதற்கு இந்தியாவில் பலருக்கு அர்த்தம் தெரிவதில்லை.அடுத்தவனின் சொத்தை,உழைப்பை,ஆளுமையை கூச்சமே இல்லாமல் திருடுவது இயல்பாகி விட்டது.அதற்கு எதிரான குரல் ஒரு முனகலை போன்றே ஒலிக்கிறது.எப்போதும்,ஒரு படத்தை பற்றிய என் பார்வையை பதியும் முன்,இரண்டு மூன்று முறை அந்த படத்தை பார்ப்பது உண்டு.ஆனால் இந்த படத்தை முதல் முறை பார்த்ததுமே எனக்கு இரண்டாவது முறை பார்க்கும் தைரியம் இல்லை என்பதை உணர்ந்துகொண்டேன்.மையங்களை மட்டும் வெளிச்சம் போட்டு காட்டிக்கொண்டிருந்த தமிழ் சினிமா,விளிம்புகளையும் கவனிக்க ஆரம்பித்திருக்கிறது. அங்காடி தெரு மூலமாக எளிய மனிதர்களின் முகங்களும்,வாழ்க்கையும் திரையில் வியாபித்திருக்கின்றன அந்த வகையில் தமிழ் சினிமாவில் நடந்திருக்கும் மிகப்பெரிய Shift.

விண்ணைத்தாண்டி வருவாயா – காதலின் பெரும் துயரம்

காதலின் அவஸ்தை,காதல் கொடுக்கும் வலி தாங்கமுடியாத ஒன்றாகவே இருக்கிறது.எத்தனையோ வாழ்வியல் மாற்றங்கள் வந்தபோதும்,தொழில்நுட்பம் வளர்ந்திருந்தபோதும் காதல் மட்டும் மாறாமல் இருக்கிறது.

இந்த உலகத்தில எத்தனையோ பொண்ணுங்க இருக்கும்போது நான் ஏன் ஜெஸ்ஸிய காதலிச்சேன்?

இது தான் விண்ணைதாண்டி வருவாயா படத்தின் முதல் வசனம்.அதன் பிறகு திரையில் விரிவது ஒரு மூன்று மணி நேர மாயாஜாலம்.ஜெஸ்ஸி,கார்த்திக் என்ற யாரோ இருவரின் வலி மிகுந்த காதல்.
பெங்களூரு PVRல் நள்ளிரவு காட்சி முடிந்து வெளியே நடந்து வரும் போது,ஏதோ மனம் ஆழ்ந்த துயரத்தில் இருந்ததை உணர முடிந்தது.பொறியியல் படித்துவிட்டு திரைப்பட இயக்குனராக ஆசைப்படும் தமிழ் இந்து பையனுக்கும்,Program analystஆக இருக்கும் மலையாளி கிருஸ்தவ பெண்ணுக்கும் இடையில் இருக்கும் காதல்,மோதல் பிரிவுதான் kathai.மிக மிக பார்த்து சலித்த இந்த கதைக்கரு எப்படி ஒரு உயர்தர சினிமாவாக உருவாகியிருக்கிறது என்பதை பகிர்ந்து கொள்ளத்தான் இந்த பதிவு.

வழக்கம்போல் ஜெஸ்ஸியை பார்த்தவுடன் காதல் வந்து விடுகிறது கார்த்திக் பையனுக்கு.

இயக்குனர் கொளதம் மேனன் திரைக்கதை மிக மிக உயர்ந்த தரத்தில் இருக்கிறது.தன் வாழ்க்கையின் மிக அற்புதமான கணங்களை பதிவு செய்திருப்பதாகவே தோன்றுகிறது.

Travel,lives,experiences – II

We started travel in bus to Erode first.On the way to erode we crossed many villages.I was looking at greenfrields passing outside pleasantly.Lavishly built Engineering colleges,Schools,Newly built temples told me the trends and richness of the region but When we reach a place ‘Namakiripettai”, i got high blood pressure.Its nothing but due to the Flex boards.believe it or not..every boards has 200ft height and same width erected by political parties and fan clubs.The whole board was full of heads with names and their designations.I felt its ridiculus.Totally there was 15 – 20 like that and small boards cannot be counted so easily.Im not againt publicity,Thats everyone’s rights,but there should be some limit.How much money they spend for this ? I was thinking all these exploitation all the way to erode.When we get down,nature called me,we were searching for the toilets.No signs about the toilet direction in the bus stand.All the wall of the building pasted with bills.All pillars looking horrible with bills and saafron colour.I think peoples spitted very consistently in every pillar.Finally i found the toilets,we we entered it,i suddenly got vomit sensing due to the smell,it was stinging like hell.Ran out of the place.Meanwhile Flex borads sparked in my mind..

We took bus to Bhavani sagar via Kobi chetti palayam and Sathiyamangalam towns.We reached bhavani sagar town after 5hours long journey.We received by a Arul,who is residing in the camp,The camp has more than 5000houses.All the houses built by the government with black Asbestos sheets.There was tiny lane as treets.No proper toilets and roads and the place not well maintained as well.

We met Some familes there.Most of the families fled to india after 1983 black july riots in srilanka,A massacre executed by majotiry sinhalese in Colombo and Tamil majority areas.Some families fled and settled here recently within a year due to the final war between Srilankan Government and LTTE.Different peoples,Different stories.Most of them are living here for the past 20years.Many children born here and now studying in schools and colleges.From that camp around 10 students are studying Engineering courses.We were felt proud and appreciate them.I personaly felt happy.That happiness didnt last for long..

They started telling stories…

All mouths uniformly said for the every question, Nationality.Yeah ofcourse their nation is sri lanka.Now they cant even think of their country.For their survival men and women go to Stone quarries for work.They get weekly Rs.500 wage for their 10hr work in a day.The man who we met said “Please see outside,you will see few hills are missing.We all have done that!”,Lots of pain in his words.I could feel, How pathetic it is being Homeless or Country less.

Indian English News Channels-Insensitivity or Abuse of Power?

I am writing this with wounded heart. I was hurt badly during last couple of weeks due to the developments in Sri lanka.

Unfortunately i gathered all the information from Indian English NEWS channels.Most of us have had bad experience with these irresponsible news channels and their TRP wars already during Mumbai Terror attacks.Be it barkha dutt or Rajdeep Sardesai, showed their theatrical abilities in front of the television cameras.Their approach in many serious issues shows “Insensitivity”.Talk shows are finishing with conclusions even tough they discussed about very serious issues.News reporters become full authority of any problems what we see.We have seen this in 26/11 mumbai attack coverage itself.I really shocked when they suggest the Indian government to go for “War against Pakistan”.Not only this..please do youtube search and see the 26/11 footage to know their ridiculous approach on news coverage and presentation.

Mostly the North Indians have very less idea about south indian regions and their cultures and languages.This attitude reflects among delhi based media personals and their contents.In srilankan Tamil’s issue most of the people thinks Srilankan Tamils were migrated from Tamil Nadu,India.Yes! it is partially true.Tamils went to srilanka to work in Tea estates in south Lanka,Now they are calling as “Hill country Tamils.” But they are not fighting for their home land.Ethnic Tamils from East and North part of Srilanka are fighting for their rights and fight against the sinhalese chauvinism.Indian medias never exposed these facts and blindly tells Prabhakaran is “Terrorist”.Ofcourse prabhakaran taken arms to fight for the people’s rights.Indra Gandhi government financially supported LTTE and The Indian Army trained LTTE to fight against Sri lankan GOVT.After 9/11 the whole perspective on REBELs changed all over the world.They branded all the REBELS as “Terrorists”.This was done by America and their allies.These countries never listened or listening to UNO and their guidelines.The same thing is happening in Srilanka.

When the final war happened in Mullaithivu,Indian TV channels telecasted the news “Prabhakaran is dead”.They later showed a face “Prabhakaran”,I personally didn’t believe that but shocked.Later i realized that, a small REBEL outfit cannot fight against big brothers like INDIA(India have given Intelligence support and RADAR),CHina(Weapon support & Moral support),Pakistan(Weapon support) and other countries too.Another funny thing is, these channels only ask opinion to Ram(Hindu editor), Subramaniam swami(Small time Politician;) ), Cho(Tuglak editor) whatever happens in Tamil.Do they think these fellows are the only intellectual personalties living in Tamil nadu? or Representatives of Tamils?,in fact These fellows always talks against Tamilnadu people’s interests and their opinions.I’m not telling their opinions should inclined with Tamil’s.But these fellows never talked about Socio-economical problems of Tamil peoples or mass killing of innocent peoples or human right violations happened in srilanka.

But what irritated me the most was the way they presented the news.It was more sensational.It was more fantasy.No compassion in their minds.They showed the celebration in colombu for the fall of LTTE and its leader,and all the news reader’s expressions were full of excitement that they won something.Meantime There was massacre happening in srilanka, There was big human tragedy in the name of war and in the name of destroying LTTE.No human rights commission,No enquiry on war criminals,No UNO intervention,No Red cross participation, No Journalists allowed inside Srilanka.Nothing is considerable for these shameless Indian electronic media and its reporters.

Another funny thing,their reporters trying to show what is the reaction of Tamil Nadu in this issue.They interviewed a bike rider(Looks like a northy/tamil brahmin) and he is replying “Peoples are happy as a terrorist is dead ” and another shit footage like this went on.My point is, They(reporters) never come to the real public and register their own feelings on this.They behaved almost like Philistines.I know the whole Tamil diaspora in shock still and didn’t believe prabhakaran’s death(Including me) whether they like him or oppose him.Why because many times his death was announced in the past and proved as fake later.I too have reservation on prabhakaran’s strategies and decisions.

He killed EPRLF leader padhmanabiah at chennai in late 80s and eclipsed other rebel outfits.
He masterminded Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination and later in a press meet he didn’t give enough explanation on this.
His decision on Mass evacuation of Muslims from northern srilanka
Karuna’s mutiny inside LTTE and Separation.
He believed weapons more than peace talks or a political solution.

But Prabhakaran and LTTE was absolute “reaction” against the sinhalese atrocities on Tamils happened in the past.After Black July(1983),LTTE become bigger and stronger.But When i saw the news from these channels about prabhakaran and LTTE,these facts never told and even not considered as well.They acted like a prophet of Mahindha Rajabakshe and Srilankan government.

What makes me to write about this post are,after all those sound bits faded,The media never talked about the

Refugee problems
Genocides
Ethnic cleansing by Sinhalese Majority goernment
Human rights violation by Srilankan government
Power devolution for Tamils
The cause of war
Sinhalese chauvinism
Sinhalese army’s atrocities
Never told the story of why india, the great Gandhian country supported srilanka for the govt not to face war crime charges from UN.
Why they didn’t say anything against india when Rajabakshe said “I was fighting India’s battle”.So don’t call india as “Ahimsa county” when Indian government supported this genocide.

I know they wont say..because these channels is not for peoples&society.It is for someone else.

There is lot many to tell or argue..what is the use?.Innocent peoples got killed by their own army with shells,artilleries and cluster bombs and many become refugees and Tamil land in northern part become graveyard. 20+ Tamil youths got suicide by self immolated themselves to stop this war,rallies,Public speeches,boycotts all makes no sense now.There is/was nobody/no media to talk about that but i can say one thing, When they feel happy for others defeat,they need a personal experience to realize the pain.

Apart from all these filthy journalists, who will do anything/everything to increase their TRP rates, Arunthathi roy, Tehelka magazine came out with a sensible approach in this ethnic issue and very long bloody civil war.Kudos to them

What makes,a boy throwing his examination papers to his beloved pet dogs?
What makes to look the Small water pond where sun taking bath staying in the middle of the road?
Why Marks and Books are alien for him ?
For all the questions – watch Taare Zameen par once.The film opened with One innocent,Charming Young Boy with his ademant teeth.
The story goes like this : Eight year old boy from middle class background in mumbai Ishaan Nandhakishore awasthi(Dharsheel safari) struggling his studies and day to day life activities like wearing polished shoes,Wearing tie,Getting ready to school ontime what other kids do normally with more interests.Getting complaints from flat,school,bus..everywhere.Oneday he failed to bring the parent’s signed examination papers to the class.To escape from the punishment by the devil like teachers, he decided to bunk the class and He did.Went to big roads of mumbai and roam alone,travelling in Corporation buses,spending the whole day and return back.Later He caughtup by his dad and he has an enquiry session in school where his teachers tells about his whole history.His dad decided to admit him in Boarding school,and believing there his son will be straightened. He joins the Boarding school,There also same approach to him by his teachers.There he really having his badtime including lonelyness.Where his close friend Rajan Damodharan telling boarding school is not for punishment.On that time Ram Shankar nukump(Aamir Khan) is coming to that school as Temperary art teacher. His introduction with students is more friendly with songs and dance.Young students getting excited of his arrival.He starts his work.He is asking all the students to draw an art as they like.Ishan didnt started.He noticed that and asking about his problem with his friend and he came to know that he cant read and write properly and getting red round marks allover his notebook. He started analyse about him,He checkes all his notebooks then He is going to his house in mumbai and meet his parents where he explains What is his problem and what kind of mistakes he is doing,the pattern of the mistakes as well as his other problems.Meanwhile he is finding that he has done many exceptional paintings.
And then he could concluded that the boy has “Dyslexia”.He is explaining that to them. After returning to school, Ramshankar Takes personal care for him,Explaining about dyslexia affected Peoples who changed the world drastically like Einstine,Thomas alwa edision,Agadha christy,Hindi cinema Actor Abishek bachan.Then Ishaan Realise gets confident and move with Ram closely.
Ramshankar take full care of him to bring the boy as normal kid as like others. Ishaan has good improvement with new method of teaching with atmost care. Ramshankar as an art teacher arranging a very big art competition within the school campus where all the teachers and students has to participate.In that art competion ishan’s art declared as best one.Ram shankar draws Ishaan’s smiling face got second prize.Ishaan’s painting and His smiling face become Wrappers in School Annual day book.

As a director aamir succeeds and won accolades from us.Be it Shots,Be it Screenplay,be it handling actors,Production design in all he proves his potential.We could find some amazing shots in this film.Very clean story line with flawless screenplay and sleek editing make this film as worth watch.
Setu’s cinematography is simply superb.Exspecially when Ishaan start his abstact painting..a tight close up staright shot on the yellow paint and then he fills the red paint within that,Setu Captured the magic happening on that time is a special mention.This is a great effort by both director and cinematographer.

Shankar eshon loy’s music scores in background score and songs.This movie’s main asset is actors.Dharsheel safari as Ishaan,Tisca Chopra as his mother both did wonderful contribution in this film.Dharsheel is a prodigy no doubt in it.He rendered the charecter in a very realistic way and what a talented boy he is! I particularly like a scence when he do his abstract paint.He will do magics with colours,his brother come and see that,will say “Wow”,he will react by closing his eyes and smiles.simply Fantastic.

Tisca chopra lived as his mother,Her expressions in sad,frustration,love with his son really awesome.I really love her acting.She is pretty too .
Aamirkhan,needless to say..he did underplay and justify his charector and all the extras are did their part very well. Montage scenes well handled by Editor Dheepa Bhatia.All the graphics scenes are worldclass.thanks to TATA Elxi.

The film has less cliched,No melodrama and its lightning up many kids life.Its a must watch movie for every parents and school teachers.After seen this movie,even if few teachers/parents change their materialistic approach to handle the little prince and princess,that is this film’s big success.

A high quality and Sensible Children Cinema from INDIA to the world.Hats of aamir khan.
